Sub-processors
These are the companies that process personal information for us so we can run LightPlane. Each one is bound by contract to use it only to provide its service to us. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why.
1. Infrastructure, payments and email
| Provider | What they do for us | Data they process | Where |

| Stripe | Payments, subscriptions, invoices, and the customer portal where you manage or cancel a plan | Name, email, billing address, card details (collected by Stripe directly), subscription and payment history | United States |

| Twilio SendGrid | Delivery of other Service email, and account email when Resend is unavailable | Recipient name and email address, and the message | United States |
2. AI model providers
We send each provider only the content needed for the task you asked for. None of them may use it to train their models.
| Provider | What they do for us | Data they process | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anthropic | AI models (Claude): assessments of your competitors and markets, strategy reviews, assistants, and reading the instructions you type | The prompt and content for each task, which may include your profile, documents and questions | United States |
| OpenAI | AI models: reading articles, what a story means for you, answering questions about an article, summarizing your documents, reading articles aloud, and voice conversations | The prompt and content for each task; the text read aloud; your voice in a voice session | United States |
| Google (Gemini API) | Image generation, where an app offers it | The prompt and any images you supply | United States |
If you or your organization connect your own account with an AI provider, requests made with it are processed under your own agreement with that provider.
3. Services you choose to use
These services receive information only if you choose to use them. They act under their own terms with you, not as our sub-processors.
| Service | When it's used | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Sign in with Google; connecting a Google email, calendar or Drive account | Your name, email address and profile picture; the account data you authorize | |
| Sign in with LinkedIn | Your name, email address and profile picture | |
| Microsoft | Connecting a Microsoft 365 account | The account data you authorize |
4. Public sources we search
To find news and facts about the companies, markets and topics readers name, we query public sources. These requests carry the name or topic only, never who asked, so these sources receive no personal information about you from us.
- News search: Bing News, and where configured, SerpApi (Google News results) and GNews.
- Public records: Wikidata, SEC EDGAR, the Federal Register, the Apple App Store, Hacker News (through Algolia), and the Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby job boards.
- Publishers' and companies' own websites, when we fetch an article or check a page a reader asked us to watch.
5. Our website
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when it does. We don't use advertising or analytics trackers.
6. Changes
We update this page before a new sub-processor starts processing personal information. If you'd like to be told when it changes, write to support@lightplane.ai.
